This department covers a wide range of professional fields. In addition to education in traditional chemical engineering, development is oriented toward application fields such as materials engineering (nano materials, functional polymers, high-function and functional composite materials, hybrid inorganic–organic materials, biomedical materials, and microelectronic materials), chemical purification processes, environmental pollution, separation technology, biochemical engineering, and energy technology, in order to meet current trends and closely integrate with industry needs.

The objectives of this Department are to train outstanding professionals in chemical engineering who will pursue excellence and value theory and practice equally. In cooperation with Taiwan’s science and technology development policies and industrial needs, this Department is committed to the application of chemical engineering techniques in materials, biochemical, and fine (green) chemical engineering, integrating opportunities for industrial–academic partnerships to improve chemical engineering technology and production skills.
